Are you one of those “Money Today, Tears in the Future”? If you are, then this blog is for you! Good day everyone! Missed me? Don’t worry I’m here again to share another interesting topic for you. Hope you’ll enjoy reading!

Megan DeMatteo and Leslie Jones, the authors of the article “Six Fun Saving and Budgeting Activities for High School Students” which is published by the WeAreTeachers on June 4, 2019. This article is all about the activities that could help you to save and budget your money. The authors shared six fun activities that will teach you to financial literacy in your highschool classroom.

Being financial aware is important to all of the students for them to understand their financial responsibility. Those activities, shared by the authors were done in classroom along with the teacher and classmates. One of those activities was Creating a Buying Plan wherein you’ll gonna jut down your 10 wants that you want to have within the year and you’ll gonna anticipate your savings if you can afford that wants of yours. All of the activities given will help the students to set financial goals for their future.

“With a little empathy, time, and positive thinking, you can teach your students how to build budgeting and savings habits that work for them.” This was said by the authors as they end their article. This quotation tells the teachers to be more optimistic in teaching their students in financial aspect. Since this aspect is very relatable, it’s easy to learn and apply.
So guys I just have already finished the summary so I’ll proceed with my review on the article so let’s go!

In my previous blogs, it was all about my passion and I didn’t mentioned that aside from dancing, I dream to be an Accountant. I could say that this article does relate with my passion in a way that since I’m an ABM student, I must be good in terms of money and I myself know how to balance or budget my money because my parents have taught me before and that made me called by the others as “kuripot”.
This article also does relate with the issue in our present-day world. Most of the people nowadays are “buy now, nganga later” type and impulsive buying here and there. 10% and 30% off? You will find so many people at the mall buying as if they don’t have needs for their future that’s why I called them “Money Today, Tears in the Future” type. If they have money, they will just go, buy and buy and if nothing is left, crying is a sure thing.

The article also increased my knowledge about budgeting my money. It gave me an idea on how to budget my money in a right way and I’m more convinced that saving and budgeting is a must. My family, even my friends know me as ‘kuripot’ and I agree with that. I just buy those things that are important like school supplies and foods. Luxury no more!
Recommending this article is a yes yes! I recommend this article to everyone especially to all of the students because as what I have observed, most of the student today are badly engaged with their luxury like always eating in fast foodchain and buying set of make ups. That is a no no! So must read this article for you to be guided about saving and budgeting money.
So again, are you one of “Money Today, Tears in the Future”? No! You shoudn’t be. Come to think of this, it’s better to be called “kuripot” than being “magastos” that may lead you to have debts. Money is not with you all the times so you better save it for your future needs. It’s not them who will suffer but you. While we still have time, let’s just save money because it’s not easy to get this. You have to work hard for it.“Plant in the Spring or beg in the Fall” That was said by Jim Rohn that I will never forget.
